As a programmer who previously relied on an MX Ergo and a Logitech ergonomic keyboard, I can confidently say that the Keyball61 has been a game-changer for me.

My absolute favorite feature is not having to move my hands off the keyboard while working. This seamless workflow has significantly boosted my efficiency. While there was a short adjustment period for my hands to get used to the new position and avoid accidentally nudging the trackball, it's now second nature.

The thing that truly sets the Keyball61 apart is its incredible customizability. The integrated remap-keys.app support for modifying keymaps is incredibly easy to use, allowing me to tailor my layout precisely to my needs without any hassle. This, combined with the power of QMK firmware and my own customized Miryoku-based keymap, creates an amazing and efficient typing experience.

Furthermore, the support from Idan at Holykeebs has been exceptionally responsive and helpful throughout my journey with the Keyball61.

While the biggest learning curve for me was adapting to the Keyball61's unique key staggering and diving into more advanced keymap configurations, if you're already accustomed to an ortholinear keyboard, integrating the trackball will likely be a breeze.

Got this board as my first split keyboard and I couldn't be happier. Service is excellent, I ordered the pre soldered version and everything was greatly done. The OLED display got damaged in shipping unfortunately, but I was able to get a refund for its cost easily. The TPS43 trackpad is nice, but not as precise as a good laptop trackpad, the scrolling especially is not great, either too fast or too slow depending on the buffer amount. Maybe that can be fixed in future firmware updates though.

Overall, very happy with my purchase!

Title says it all! QMK is easy to work with (using VIA) and the build feels very solid. My biggest problem is coming up with a keyboard mapping that is more or less consistent between my Corne and my Lily58 wireless (pesky extra keys).

I got this presoldered (not assymbled) and the solder job on this board looks fantastic! The 3d printed case is simple and nice, and assymbly was simple. My only gripe is that the firmware that it shipped with was setup to have the right board as the master, so I had to flash it myself, which was a difficult process to figure out because the micro controllers used aren't well documented by QMK, but that's not inherently this product's fault. I've been having fun making all sorts of weird layers and layouts. Will definitely recommend their services to anyone that's shopping around

Excellent service

In my humble opinion, the key placement of the Ferris Sweep, especially the pinky column, perfectly suits the average human hand. The four thumb keys are plenty to give quick access to the space bar and the three most-often used layers (e.g. Caps, Symbols, Navigation), while limiting mental load compared to when there are more thumb keys.

Worked right out of the box, which is awesome since I have almost zero soldering and very limited coding experience.

The keyball44 was delivered in about a months time. Build quality is solid. The board came pre-flashed and so was ready to go upon arrival. The keyboard was packaged appropriately for international delivery. I did originally order a lily58, and changed my mind to the keyball44. Customer service was responsive and accomodating. I've been using the board daily for over 2 months now and have encountered zero issues.

If I were to write one minor complaint it's that it would be good to mention that the trackball is sold separately. To be fair, this is clearly mentioned in the keyball44 overview page. I think it would be a good addition to the keyball44 product/part selection page as a warning so the buyer remembers to go over to Amazon to get a trackball. Maybe even sell the trackball as an add-on similar to the tenting legs, TRRS cable, etc?

Keyball61

Easy assembly. If you are familiar with ergo keyboards this is a perfect solution. The changes made on the original design makes it more flexible.

Really fun and challenging build - watch out for the FFC connectors, they're challenging even with lots of soldering experience. Great support and troubleshooting from holykeebs. The keyboard itself is awesome: the trackball is in the right spot, the scroll wheels on each side are nice, the toggles are cool(I'm using one for numpad mode when I'm inputting lots of numbers). Remap-app takes a bit of getting used to compared to VIA or VIAL, but it has all the options, and the firmware is open source if you need more options.
